Metrorex, the company which is in charge of the Bucharest metro has announced that the construction of M5 section between Drumul Taberei and Eroilor has been completed by 82 % on the 15th of September. The TBM was removed from the shaft near the Eroilor 1 station and reintroduced by the Eroilor 2 station to continue excavation works which should be completed in the first half of 2017. Metrorex has issued an invitation to tender for the elaboration of a pre-feasibility study of the extension between the North Station and the Old Progress railway station line 4. The studies should be elaboration over a 30 months’ period and is estimated to a total cost of 12 million euros.
