Matea Uhlik Vidović, 27.09.2016.

Romania’s Government adopted a strategic document which provides the construction of over 6,800 kilometers of road in the next 15 years. For over 1,500 kilometers of highway and over 1,300 kilometers of express road Romania wants to invest EUR 43.5 billion by 2030. This master plan also provides actions for renovating 5,000 kilometers of railways and 32 bridges. Romania’s Pitesti-Sibiu highway, which is a part of Pan-European transport corridor IV and the partially built A1 motorway, should be completed in 2021. The A1 planned to connect Bucharest with the Banat and Crișana regions in the western part of the country. When completed it will be 577 kilometers long and reaching the Hungarian M43 motorway near Nădlac. The construction receives 85% funding from the European Union.
