Expressway H6 was on a section of the connector Koper-center to connect Semedela built in 1981 as part of the "coastal road". The major part of this section is subject to reconstruction of a new section of Koper –Izola and was completed in 2009. but the construction proceeds. Critical path was the construction of a twin-tube tunnel Markovec length of 2143 m (right tube) and 2175 m (left tube) which is now open for the drivers.

Under construction in 2018: Lucan and Valeta tunnels
The construction of the road will take place along the edge of the valley Pivola, section by Lucija foresees the construction of 455 meters long viaduct Jagodje and about a mile-long tunnel Lucan. Lucan tunnel will be a twin tube, two and three lane highway tunnel with an approximate length of 1070 m on the highway H6. The tunnel will consist of three cross passages, two of them designed for pedestrians and one for the rescue vehicles. Tunnel Valeta will also be a part of the road to Piran. As a single tube bidirectional tunnel will connect highway H6 and national local roads leading to Piran. Planned tunnel is 880 m long and accompanied with an escape tunnel of smaller cross section which allows unidirectional single lane transport of rescue vehicles. Both tubes will be connected with two cross passages for rescue vehicles and one pedestrian cross passage. The work should start in 2018 and for the construction part the expected investment is around 36,5 mil euros and for the electro installations 10 mil euros.

3 new tunnels in design phase
On the planned reorganization of the railway Maribor Šentilj there are three tunnels on the way: Tunnel Pekel (to replace the existing tunnel Počehova), with two lanes, length 1.535m and the value of about 30 million euros. TunneI Štrihovec (completely new), also with two lanes, length 810m and the value of approximately 16 million euros. The work on the tunnel Šentilj will include expansion of the existing single-lane tunnel under the low coverage and existing infrastructure facilities. Determined length is 237m and worth of 8 million euros. The tunnels will be built in the frame of the 2nd line Maribor - Šentilj and upgrading existing lines. Currently, the projects are in the design stage and waiting for the next steps.
